LVP vs engineered hardwood — which flooring is right for your home?

Luxury vinyl plank and engineered hardwood both look great underfoot. Choosing between them comes down to three practical factors.
Moisture and traffic
LVP shrugs off water and heavy use, which makes it ideal for kitchens, basements, and busy family homes. Engineered hardwood is real wood — warmer and more premium, but less forgiving with moisture.
Budget and longevity
LVP costs less and installs faster. Engineered hardwood costs more but can sometimes be refinished, extending its life. Neither is “better” — it depends on the room and how you live in it.
